A Message to Students from Interim President Milton Santiago

  Update   •

Interim President Milton Santiago stands in his office at BCCDear Students,

Welcome Broncos to spring semester, 2024! Whether you are returning to campus or new with us this spring, I am glad you are here.

Spring is a time for new beginnings. BCC offers so many opportunities for our students, whether your goal is to move on to obtain a four-year degree or land a job within your field. Our dedicated faculty and staff members are here to support you in every way.

Like many of you, I was the first in my family to attend college. My family came from Puerto Rico, and I recall my own father’s struggle to make a living while working in the garment district in NYC.  I believe deeply in the impact a community college, and especially BCC, can have on students’ lives socially and economically.

Addressing the individual needs of our students is a top priority.  I encourage you to seek out services available on campus. In addition to offering childcare, tutoring, counseling, and a food pantry, BCC also can connect you with outside services as necessary. Most importantly, never hesitate to ask questions. We will work alongside you to assist in eliminating as many barriers as possible.

Beyond our academics, we have a host of clubs and extracurricular activities for you to engage in. Whenever you can, stay on campus after class hours and get involved. Find something that interests you. Your experience will be richer with active participation.

Finally, remember to download the BCC app as your go-to resource for everything BCC. The app, as well as this website, are important tools to help you navigate your college experience and connect with other students.

Once again, we welcome you to the BCC family and wish you all the best this semester. Together, we can make your college years here at BCC an incredible part of your journey.

Respectfully,

Milton Santiago, Ed.D.
Interim President
