Four “MUST Do’s” to attend classes – Summer & Fall 2022

Summer 2022

1. COVID Documentation Upload

  • If your vaccination documents have already been approved in CUNYfirst, you do not need to re-submit them for following semesters; however, you will need to show proof of a booster shot if you are eligible to receive one.
  • If you wish to register for in-person and/or hybrid courses and have not uploaded your COVID -19 documents (proof of being fully vaccinated, booster shoot if eligible or a request for a medical/religious waiver) you must do so no later than the dates listed below (dependent on which summer sessions you are registering for).  Medical exemptions and religious exceptions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis; they are not automatically granted.
    • Summer I starts on 6/6/22, documents must be uploaded by May 23rd
      • You will be dropped and blocked starting May 24th from you in-person/hybrid courses
    • Summer III starts on 6/6/22, documents mut be uploaded by May 23rd
      • You will be dropped and blocked starting May 24th from you in-person/hybrid courses
    • Summer II starts on 6/27/22, documents must be uploaded by June 13th
      • You will be dropped and blocked starting June 14th from you in-person/hybrid courses
    • Summer IV starts 8/1/22, documents must be uploaded by July 18th
      • You will be dropped and blocked starting July 19th from you in-person/hybrid courses
  • If you are registered for in-person and/or hybrid courses and have not uploaded your COVID – 19 documents and have not had them approved by dates listed above you will be dropped from your in-person/ hybrid courses. You will also be blocked from further registration until you are in compliance.

      • Here are some tips to complete the upload:
        • Please make sure that you upload both dose information on the upload. You have to put the information in for the 1st dose and then, once completed, you have to hit the blue “+” button which is on the top right of that box. Then, you need to upload the 2nd dose information. If you got a J&J shot, you just need to upload 1 dose information.
        • DO NOT CHECK the EXCELSIOR PASS attestation box. If you do, you must be able to provide a screenshot of your NYS Excelsior pass. You do not need to take this step.
        • If you need still need help, please email us at VPStudentsuccess@bcc.cuny.edu. Please include your full name and emplid number.

2. Submit your MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccination if you have not already done so.

  • Deadline to submit is June 6, 2022.
  • If you are going to take 6 or more credits of in-person and/or hybrid credits you must submit your MMR vaccination paperwork or a Titer test which demonstrates immunity to MMR to Health Services (HealthServices@bcc.cuny.edu ). You can also fax or scan to 718-289-6074.
  • Please send your vaccination documentation as a PDF – we do not accept screen shot of your documents.

3. Submit your Meningitis form if you have not already done so.  

  • Deadline to submit is June 6, 2022.
  • If you are going to take 6 or more credits of in-person or hybrid credits you must submit a Meningitis Response Form via CUNYfirst. CUNY students are NOT required to have a Meningitis vaccine.

4. Complete SPARC (Sexual and interpersonal violence Prevention And Response Course)

  • All students are required to complete SPARC. Failure to complete your SPARC training will result in the inability to register in future semesters.
  • You can access this free course in CUNYfirst please click here to access CUNYfirst.
    • Once you log-in, find your “To-Do List” and click on “SPARC.” For more information regarding SPARC please click here.

Fall 1 courses begin 8/25/22

Deadlines for fall 1 (remember classes being 8/25/22):

  • If you wish to register for in-person and/or hybrid courses and have not uploaded your COVID -19 documents (proof of being fully vaccinated, booster shoot if eligible or a request for a medical/religious waiver) you must do so no later than 8/11/22. Medical exemptions and religious exceptions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis; they are not automatically granted.
  • If you are registered for in-person and/or hybrid courses and have not uploaded your COVID – 19 documents and have not had them approved by 8/11/22, you will be dropped (starting on 8/12/22) from your in-person/ hybrid courses. You will also be blocked from further registration until you are in compliance. The last day to re-register for fall 1 courses is 8/31/22.
