Dr. Rima is a Professor of Psychology within The Social Sciences Department at BCC. She holds degrees in Psychology, including a BS from The College of William and Mary, an MA from The University of Richmond, and a PhD in Applied Social Psychology from The George Washington University. Dr. Rima's research explores significant areas of women’s health, including body image, as well as effective learning practices for community college students. Her teaching portfolio at BCC includes courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, and Psychology of Women. Dr. Rima's student-centered teaching philosophy prioritizes the relevance and practical application of psychological concepts to students’ everyday lives. Outside of academia, she enthusiastically studies yoga philosophy and enjoys hiking with her two dogs.
