BCC Hosts New-Hire Re-Engagement Orientation

President Johnson at HR OrientationBronx Community College officially welcomed new employees who joined the Bronco family January, 2025 – December, 2025 during a New-Hire Re-Engagement Orientation held on January 21. The initiative was designed to reconnect new hires with the College’s mission, leadership, and community, while reinforcing a strong sense of belonging. 

President Johnson highlighted BCC’s national landmark campus in the heart of the South Bronx, noting that while the College’s physical beauty is striking, its greatest strength lies in its people – faculty, staff, and administrators working collaboratively in service of nearly 7,000 students representing more than 120 countries. 

New-Hire Re-Engagement OrientationThe President also expressed appreciation to Executive Director of Human Resources Elgin Ford and the Human Resources team for their comprehensive efforts to ensure new employees feel informed, supported, and fully embraced by the BCC community. Through sessions focused on benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and institutional priorities, the initiative underscored BCC’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and holistic employee engagement. 

Having recently reached 200 days on campus, President Johnson continues to advance a vision that honors the College’s legacy while shaping the next era of institutional impact. The message to new hires was clear: every role at Bronx Community College contributes to student success, shared responsibility, and a future filled with opportunity – the best is still yet to come.
