Relive the 2026 Commencement!
Congratulations, Class of 2026!
More than 1,200 graduates representing 56 countries of ancestry celebrated a milestone achievement as Bronx Community College honored the Class of 2026 during its annual Commencement ceremony. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, staff, and community leaders, graduates crossed the stage to receive their diplomas and begin the next chapter of their educational and professional journeys. The youngest graduate was 18 years old and the oldest was 73.
The College was honored to welcome award-winning WABC-TV journalist Pedro Rivera as keynote speaker. Rivera encouraged graduates to embrace new opportunities, persevere through challenges, and use their talents to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
The ceremony featured remarks from Bronx Community College President Dr. Larry D. Johnson, Jr.; CUNY Trustee Mayra Linares-Garcia; Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson; Student Government Association President Bryan B. Gomez; and Class of 2026 Valedictorian Jazmin Rodriguez, who joined in celebrating the achievements and bright futures of the graduating class. Additional greetings were delivered by Congressman Adriano Espaillat, Council Member Pierina Ana Sanchez, and Fidel Malena, representing Governor Kathy Hochul.
Professor Gloria Rodriguez served as Faculty Grand Marshal, and saxophonist Ashley Keiko provided musical selections for the ceremony.
The celebration reflected the strength, determination, and promise of the graduating class as students joined the ranks of BCC alumni. As the College continues to redefine what’s possible during the Bronx Renaissance, the Class of 2026 leaves campus Bronco, Ready! to pursue their goals, strengthen their communities, and shape the future.
Congratulations, Class of 2026 – the best is still yet to come.
