Ronnie Hector, the CEO and Executive Director of the SUNY Bronx Educational Opportunity center (BxEOC),  brings a wealth of experience to his role. Over the past six years, he has led the BxEOC in developing and implementing training and support services to meet the workforce needs of the Bronx and greater New York City. His leadership is further demonstrated in his role as the President of the Association of Educational Opportunity Center Directors. With a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and master’s degrees in Higher Education Administration and Counseling-Career and School Psychology, Ronnie has over 35 years of experience in community-based workforce development, allied health, and Higher Education institutions.  His pursuit of a Doctorate in Education Leadership and Management, expected to be received in 2025, is a testament to his commitment to continuous learning and growth.

Mr. Hector has served in various roles over his 35 years of service, including as an Affirmative Action Officer, Human Resource Specialist, and Assistant to the Dean of Liberal Arts and Education. He has also been an Online Administrator, Adjunct Faculty, and Coordinator of Online Services. His work as a Managing Consultant and Associate Director has significantly impacted workforce development in New York. He has served as a REACH Lead Coach and Mentor to three SUNY employees from various SUNY programs, influencing their work in workforce development and opportunity programs. His leadership in allied health has also influenced patient-centered care in New York. Additionally, Mr. Hector has several State and City Proclamations and Citations for his work in Workforce Development. He received the 2021 City and State Responsible 100 New Yorkers and the 2022 City and State Above and Beyond Innovators in New York.

Ronnie Hector's transformative work in New York is a source of inspiration. His efforts have brought about significant changes, strengthening families and communities, and creating pathways for upward mobility and economic stability.
