David A. Taylor joined Bronx Community College as Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs in September, 1997, after serving as Deputy Budget Director for Central Programs at the (then) New York City Board of Education. His early career movement took him from a Budget Analyst in the New York City Office of Management and Budget to several positions within the CUNY framework, serving as a financial analyst in the CUNY Central Budget Office to Assistant Business Manager and Business Manager at LaGuardia Community College, Queens and Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College, Bronx, respectively. It was upon his return to CUNY that he solidified his calling to give back to the system that was so instrumental in his family’s growth and upward mobility.

Mr. Taylor would go on to serve as Acting Vice President of Administrative Affairs at York College, Queens in 2002, and later as Vice President of Administration and Finance at Medgar Evers College, Brooklyn in 2013. In 2015, Mr. Taylor returned to Bronx Community College as Assistant Vice President of Administrative Affairs to add stability to the division at a time of interim presidential and vice presidential leadership.

Throughout his career, Mr. Taylor has a proven track record of working with senior campus leadership to develop and evaluate all facilities-related initiatives including, capital and non-capital projects, to ensure consistency with the strategic, operational and fiscal needs of the institution and to provide leadership when developing long-range plans and short-term solutions.

Mr. Taylor earned his Master of Business Administration in Business Policy from Baruch College and his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Brooklyn College. A son of immigrant parents, he considers himself a prime example of the transformative nature of education in New York City and a strong advocate for its continued access to all community constituents.

Bronx Community College continues to play a pivotal role in changing the lives of its students and the surrounding Bronx community. Mr. Taylor is steadfast in his goal to maximize BCC’s impact and expand its regional and global outreach.
