Hon. Bahaati Pitt-Burke is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Social Science Department of Bronx Community College. She is a graduate of Morgan State University and SUNY Buffalo School of Law and is currently an Associate Justice on the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department. Justice Pitt-Burke teaches Intro to Criminal Justice, drawing from her experience as a criminal defense attorney and trial judge to augment the course material with real-world examples. Justice Pitt-Burke emphasizes critical thinking and promotes a practical understanding of the principles that form the foundation of the criminal justice system.
