BCC Women's Basketball Team

Something special happened at Bronx Community College this season. Game by game, the Women’s Basketball team earned its place among the nation’s best – breaking into the NJCAA Top 15 (ranked No. 12) for the first time in program history.

In just his second season, Head Coach Craig Williams helped shape a team that trusted one another, competed hard, and showed up every day ready to work. The results spoke for themselves: a 16–4 overall record, 9–1 in conference play, an 11-game winning streak, and a team that hadn’t lost in 2026, up until its defeat this past weekend in the NJAA Region 15 Semifinals.

Their momentum carried straight into the postseason. For the first time since the 2014–2015 season, the Broncos claimed the CUNY Community College Division Championship, defeating Kingsborough 79–57 at Borough of Manhattan Community College. The victory marked their 11th straight win and reinforced what this team showed all season – they’re built for big moments.

Freshman standout Kolonnie Green delivered a dominant performance, earning MVP honors with 19 points, 20 rebounds, 8 steals, 4 blocks, and 3 assists. Her impact has been felt all season. Green earned NJCAA Region XV Player of the Month, Region XV Student-Athlete of the Month and CUNY Player of the Year honors and currently ranks first nationally in total blocks while sitting among the national leaders in rebounds and steals.

She’s not alone. In addition to Kolonnie, Destiny Davis and Akira Robertson were named to the CUNY All-Conference Team, while Angelina Gonzalez earned All-Sportsmanship honors. Veteran Yahannis Martinez and key contributions from across the roster powered BCC’s balanced attack.

Williams’ leadership has also been recognized, as he was named CUNY Coach of the Year – a reflection of both the team’s success and the culture he continues to build.
