Welcome to Bronx Community College!
Orientation is designed to help you start strong, feel confident, and connect with the BCC community.
Whether you’re a first-time college student or transferring from another school, Orientation will help you understand what to expect and how to succeed.
Why Orientation Matters
Orientation Is Required
All new students must complete Orientation before beginning their first semester.
You must:
- Be accepted to BCC
- Register for classes
- Complete Orientation (in-person or online)
Orientation helps you understand how BCC works — and how to succeed here.
During Orientation, you’ll learn:
- How financial aid works and how to manage paying for college
- What student life and engagement opportunities are available to you
- What BCC’s community standards mean for you as a student
- How to navigate BCC’s technology systems
- Practical tips and strategies for becoming an effective college student
Orientation isn’t just a requirement — it’s your introduction to the tools, expectations, and opportunities that will shape your experience at BCC.
Getting Started
You’ll receive important Orientation and enrollment updates through your BCC email, so start here.
Claim your Bronco ID:
- Claim your Bronco Identity here
- Click “Next”
- Create a password and answer your security questions
Log-into your BCC E-mail:
- Access your BCC Student E-mail Log-in page here
- Log in using the e-mail username and password that you created when you created your Bronco ID (E-mail should include xxxxx@stu.bcc.cuny.edu)
Claim your CUNYfirst Log-in:
- Go to the CUNYfirst website
- In a new tab, watch this Claiming your CUNYfirst Account video and follow the steps to claim your account.
GoOrientation.com is the home to New Student Orientation!
- Access your NSO Log-In
- Use the login information that you just created for CUNYfirst to log into Brightspace. Your username looks like: firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu
Choose Your Orientation Format
In-Person Orientation
Meet fellow students, connect with campus offices, and experience BCC in person.
Dates:
Location: Gould Memorial Library Auditorium
Time: 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Check-in begins at 9:30 AM
Upcoming dates will be posted here as they become available.
Online Orientation
Complete Orientation at your own pace through our online learning platform.
You will be automatically enrolled after registering for classes.
Once enrolled:
- Log into your BCC email
- Access Brightspace
- Look for “New Student Orientation” under My Courses
Please allow 24–48 hours after registration for the course to appear.
