Welcome to Our Three New Athletic Hires
Broncos Athletics welcomed three new members to its team this academic year: Kwesi Kaakyire-Keteni as Student Athletic Program Coordinator; Khaila Stevenson as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach; and Momodou Sawaneh as Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a program that plays such a vital role in the lives of student-athletes,” said Kaakyire-Keteni. “As a proud CUNY alum, I understand the challenges and triumphs our students face, and I’m excited to support them as they pursue both academic and athletic excellence.”
Kaakyire-Keteni brings more than two decades of experience in operations, budgeting, and strategic planning. Most recently, he served nine years at Hopes Way in the Bronx, overseeing fiscal management and contract compliance. He previously held roles at the American Museum of Natural History and The Events Network. A CUNY graduate, he earned degrees from Borough of Manhattan Community College and Baruch College, and a Master of Science in Quantitative Modeling.

Stevenson joins BCC with extensive coaching experience across multiple levels of play. She previously served as Head Coach at Immaculate Heart Middle School and Mastery Thomas Charter High School, leading the boys’ team to a Liberty Divisional title in its first year of competition. A former Monroe College volleyball player, Stevenson brings firsthand understanding of the two-year student-athlete experience and a passion for helping students grow both on and off the court.

A former CUNY student-athlete, Sawaneh returns to the conference after seven years as an assistant coach at Queensborough Community College and a recent stint at Dominican University. He also coaches youth soccer for New York City FC. As a player, Sawaneh competed for Queensborough and Adelphi University, earning NJCAA All-American and CUNYAC All-Star honors in both soccer and track & field before playing semi-professionally. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Adelphi and an Associate of Arts from Queensborough.
