Welcome to the Nursing and Allied Health Sciences
Our mission is to prepare students to contribute to a global society and a diverse work force as productive and well educated healthcare professionals. We accomplish this by continuously improving teaching and service in a personalized, culturally rich and dynamic learning environment that fosters student, faculty and staff engagement.
Simulation
Lab
Lab
All nursing courses have a practice component that utilizes the simulation laboratory. Each nursing course will have scheduled lab times for these experiences that will take place outside of scheduled class and clinical hours. Students are expected to attend the simulation laboratory as scheduled.
Programs
Licensed Practical Nursing
Our program is an evening and weekend 56-credit certificate program (with 22 transferable nursing credits to the RN program at BCC). Upon successful completion of the required coursework, students are eligible to sit for the New York State National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEXPN). The College has been certified by the New York State Education Department to offer instruction (included within the LPN curriculum) leading to New York State Nurse Aide Certification.
Radiologic Technology
Our program prepares students as entry-level, qualified, licensed and registered radiographers. This rewarding profession involves the operation of sophisticated equipment in a rapidly expanding field. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible for the national and state certifying examinations. The Radiologic Technology Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and the New York State Department of Health.
Registered Nursing
Our registered nursing program is a 67-credit program, leading to an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree, which was established in 1957. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). We have an extensive history of graduating individuals who have been competently prepared to enter in to the nursing workforce.
