Steering Committee

Middle States Organizational StructureCo-Chairs

The co-chairs of the Self-Study Steering Committee – Sahidha Odige and Seher Atamturkur – were selected by the President in consultation with the Provost and VP for Academic Affairs and the Dean for Institutional Effectiveness/ALO. Both chairs Sahidha and Seher are long-tenured members of the BCC community who have a thorough understanding of the institution.

Core Group

The co-chairs, along with the Dean for Institutional Effectiveness, Raymond Galinski, will serve as the “Core Group” of the Self-Study process responsible for communicating with the President and executive leadership on the College’s progress in meeting Self-Study milestones. Remaining members of the Steering Committee include a mixture of faculty and staff from across the institution. One co-chair from each of the working groups is represented on the Steering Committee.

Working Groups

Like the Steering Committee co-chairs, working groups are co-chaired by a faculty member and a staff member. Individuals serving in these roles were selected by the Core Group in consultation with the President’s Cabinet based on their leadership abilities and demonstrated commitment to the College. Each working group includes at least eight additional members and includes faculty, staff, and students. Additional working group members was selected from a list of volunteers following a campus-wide invitation from the president at the start of the spring 2025 semester. Additional members were recruited by members of the Core Group to ensure that each group has adequate expertise related to each standard.
