Fall 2025 Convocation Outlines Bold Vision, 100-Day Roadmap

President Dr. Larry D. Johnson, Jr. took the stage to deliver his keynote, Charting the Future: The Bronx Renaissance 2031, unveiling his 100-Day Roadmap – a bold plan rooted in his guiding principles of Belonging, Collaboration, and Communication.
Dr. Johnson emphasized that the Roadmap is not about replacing the great work already accomplished, but about sharpening and amplifying it. “It’s time to reimagine who we are, who we serve, and how we can do it better,” he said. “We cannot grow as an institution unless we work together. We must break the silos.”

Updates also were provided by campus leaders, including Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Luis Montenegro; Director of Government Relations & External Affairs David Levers; Dean of Institutional Effectiveness Ray Galinski; Assistant Vice President for Campus Operations David Taylor; and Interim Vice President for Student Success Manny Lopez, who served as emcee for the event.
Student Government Association President Bryan Gomez added words of welcome, reflecting the collective commitment of BCC’s students and employees to shaping a vibrant and inclusive future.
The day ended on a high note as faculty and staff gathered on the quad to form a massive “BCC” – an unforgettable moment of unity and pride that captured the spirit of BCC’s theme, “Redefine What’s Possible.” – before heading to a barbecue outside Meister Hall.
