At the Information Technology department of Bronx Community College, we promote Cyber Security Awareness by sharing easy-to-follow tips to help students, staff, and faculty stay safe online, along with clear guidance on what to do if they are affected by a data breach, cybercrime, or other online threats.

 Cyber Security Awareness

If you believe you’ve been impacted by a security threat and have already responded to a phishing email, it’s critical to act immediately to protect your account and data. Here’s what you should do:

✅ Steps to Take Immediately:

  1. Stop any further interaction with the suspicious email (do not click additional links or reply).
  2. Change your  CUNYFirst account password.
  3. Contact the IT Service Desk:
    • Email: Tsc@bcc.cuny.edu
  4. Report the phishing email:
    • Forward it to: ReportSpam@bcc.cuny.edu
  5. Monitor your account for any suspicious activity and report anything unusual right away.
  6. Call the Technology Service Center at 718-289-5969 (faculty and Staff) or 718-289-5970 (Students)
