Self-Service Account Management

  • The new and improved Claim Your Account process requires that all students, faculty and staff update their Bronco ID in order to log into BCC campus computers; access BCC email, OSSES and BCC Wireless Connectivity.

  • You can claim your account if you have forgotten your Bronco ID username, Bronco ID password and your Bronco ID challenge questions.

  • Go to the Self-Service Account Management page, click on Claim Your Bronco ID, and follow the instructions below:

    New Students, Faculty, Staff - Claim your Bronco Identity, register your challenge questions and set your password
    1. Enter the required information and click the Next button

     
    1. Provide Answers to the (5) challenge questions and click the Next button.

     
    1. Create a new Password
      1. Enter and confirm your new password.
      2. Read the CUNY Policy on Acceptable Use of Computer Resource by scrolling down.
      3. Check that you have read, understand and agree to the terms and conditions.
      4. Click the Next button

  • A CUNYfirst ID is a unique eight-digit number assigned to every CUNY student, faculty, and staff. It is the university-approved unique identifier created to eliminate the use of Social Security Numbers. The CUNYfirst ID is formerly known as CUNYfirst EMPLID.

  • At BCC, your Bronco ID is used for your BCC Email, OSSES, Windows Login, PC Login, Network Login, Pharos Pay-for-Print, Wireless Network (WiFi), ePortfolio and BCC Calendar. In order to avoid any confusion, we are eliminating of all these different names and rebranding this key identifier as your Bronco ID. Subsequently, your password will be identified as your Bronco Password.

  • You need to create a distinctly different answer that only you know for each challenge question to better secure your access to your Bronco ID.  You will use the questions and answers to verify who you are when you forget your password and need to create a new one.

  • The answers to the challenge questions are case sensitive.

  • You will use the challenge questions that you created when you Claimed Your Account or when you Reset Your Bronco ID Password.

  • If you require additional information or are experiencing technical difficulties claiming your account, resetting your password, contact the TSC by email, phone, fax or in person.

  • Go to the Self-Service Account Management page, click on Reset Forgotten Bronco ID Password, and follow the instructions below:

    Use your challenge questions to reset your forgotten Bronco password (you must know your Bronco ID or CUNYfirst ID and the answers to your Bronco challenge questions)
    1. Enter either your Bronco ID
      (fname.lname@stu.bcc.cuny.edu
      or
      fname.lname@bcc.cuny.edu
      )

      - or -
      your CUNYfirst ID and click the Next button.

     
    1. Provide Answers to your challenge questions and click the Next button.

     
    1. Enter and confirm your new password and click the Next button.

  • Go to the Self-Service Account Management page, click on Change Bronco ID Password, and follow the instructions below:

    Change the password for your Bronco ID (you must know your Bronco ID or CUNYfirst ID and your current Bronco password)
    1. Change Password
      1. Enter either your Bronco ID (fname.lname)
        - or -
        your CUNYfirst ID and click the Next button.
      2. Enter your current password.
      3. Enter and confirm your new password.
      4. Click the Submit Change button

  • Yes, the new password will expire in 180 days. At that time, you will be prompted to reset the password to a new password.

  • If your account gets locked while claiming your Bronco ID, you would need to wait approximately fifteen (15) minutes after which you can try to claim your Bronco ID again.
