Nuclear Medicine Technology Online Certificate Program Structure

How long is the program?

The NMT certificate takes two years to complete. The first year will focus on core Nuclear Medicine classes held online, while the second year allows you to rotate at hospitals or clinics with hands-on training in the area. After completion of the program, students are eligible to take the NMT licensure exams.

YEAR 1

Fall Semester

Phlebotomy
EKG
Orientation to Nuclear Medicine

Spring Semester

Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry
Radiation Physics & Dosimetry
Radiation Biology

 


YEAR 2

Fall Semester

Begin clinical internship (fulltime at an affiliate site: 7–3, 8–4, or 9–5)
Nuclear Physics Lab
Didactic Nuclear Medicine course

Winter Intersession

Clinical internship continues

Spring Semester

Clinical internship continues until students reach 1,000 clinic hours
Senior Seminar
