Early Childhood Center (ECC)
Need childcare while you’re in class?
The Early Childhood Center at Bronx Community College makes it possible to focus on your education while your child learns, grows, and is cared for in a safe, supportive environment.
We offer affordable childcare for BCC students, with programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
Our Programs
We offer three programs designed to support children at every stage while giving student parents the flexibility they need.
Infant & Toddler Program
(6 weeks – 2 years)
Monday through Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Our Infant & Toddler program provides a calm, nurturing environment where children receive individualized care and attention.
We support early development through:
- Sensory exploration and play
- Movement and motor skill development
- Language and early communication
- Consistent routines that create stability
Each child is supported at their own pace in a safe and responsive setting.
Monday through Friday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Preschool Program
(2 – 5 years)
Monday through Friday
7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Our Preschool program prepares children for school through structured learning and creative exploration.
Children build:
- Early literacy and language skills
- Social and emotional development
- Problem-solving and independence
- Confidence through play-based learning
Meals and snacks are prepared on-site, and daily activities support both academic and social growth.
Monday through Friday
7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Extended Evening Child Care
(Ages 2 – 12)
Monday through Thursday
3:30 PM – 6:00 PM
We provide evening childcare for student parents attending late classes.
This program offers:
- Homework support
- Supervised play and group activities
- A safe, structured environment after school
Designed to match student schedules, this program helps ensure continuity of care throughout the day.

Enrollment
Childcare services are available to the children of Bronx Community College students.
Enrollment is based on availability and offered during the academic year.
How to Get an Application
Applications can be downloaded online or picked up in person at the Early Childhood Center.

All applications must be submitted in person. Forms cannot be submitted electronically.
Before You Apply
As a New York City licensed preschool, we require specific documentation before your child can begin the program.
It’s best to have the following ready when you submit your application:
- Child’s current medical record (completed by a physician)
- Updated immunization records
- Income verification
(tax return, public assistance documentation with notarized letter, two months of pay stubs, child support letter, or notarized income statement) - Child’s original birth certificate (copies will not be accepted)
- Valid Bronx Community College student ID
- Printed class schedule with bursar’s receipt or enrollment verification
Important to Know
- Tuition is due at the beginning of the semester at the Bursar’s Office
- Unpaid tuition will result in a hold on your grades
- Placement is based on availability
- Subsidized tuition ranges from $5–$10 per day, per child
- Childcare is provided based on your schedule of classes.
- We are open during the academic school year.

LGBTQI+ Support Group
Share. Express. Support. Come together to express thoughts, hopes, and feelings with other like-minded people. Meets virtually via Zoom.

Scholarship Thursdays
Every Thursday 12–3pm, Edwin Roman — LGBTQI+ Resource Room Advisor and Academic and Transfer Resources Coordinator — is available to help you apply to LGBTQI+ scholarships including The Point Foundation.

Safe Space
The Safe Space program offers training on LGBTQI+ identities, inclusion, and allyship — for students, faculty, staff, and campus departments. Whether you want to be a better ally, understand your rights, or create a more inclusive environment in your classroom or office, we can help. Sessions run 30–90 minutes via Zoom and can be customized to your needs.
Training topics include:

- Title IX Protections for LGBTQI+ Students
- Impactful LGBTQI+ Allyship
- Pronouns
- Transgender/Nonbinary Issues
- Providing Safe Classrooms and Learning Spaces
