The LGBTQI+ Resource Room at BCC is a welcoming, affirming environment for students of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. Whether you’re looking for community, support, or just a place to be — you’re welcome here. You don’t need to join a group or sign up for anything — just come in.

Each semester the Resource Room hosts events that celebrate identity, build community, and connect students with opportunities beyond campus.
Featured Event — Spring 2026
Point Foundation Scholarship Roundtable Discussion
Get support as you apply for the Point Foundation Community College Scholarship, which provides financial support, community resources, and professional development for LGBTQI+ students.
- Amount: $4,800
- Funding Period: Fall 2026 through Spring 2027
- Application Period: January 29 – May 1, 2026

- Wednesday, February 18, 2–4pm
- Friday, April 10, 1–3pm

Every Thursday 12–3pm, Edwin Roman — LGBTQI+ Resource Room Advisor and Academic and Transfer Resources Coordinator — is available to help you apply to LGBTQI+ scholarships including The Point Foundation.

Queer Lit Book Club

Safe Space
The Safe Space program offers training on LGBTQI+ identities, inclusion, and allyship — for students, faculty, staff, and campus departments. Whether you want to be a better ally, understand your rights, or create a more inclusive environment in your classroom or office, we can help. Sessions run 30–90 minutes via Zoom and can be customized to your needs.

- Title IX Protections for LGBTQI+ Students
- Impactful LGBTQI+ Allyship
- Pronouns
- Transgender/Nonbinary Issues
- Providing Safe Classrooms and Learning Spaces

- Self-Advocacy and Resources for LGBTQI+ Students, Staff, and Faculty
