The Office of Student Diversity Initiatives (OSDI) serves as a centralized hub for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging student programming at BCC. OSDI serves the College community by providing support and activities for students that enhance their overall experience and knowledge in respect to the rich diversity and culture that exists at BCC and in our society at large. Our office partners with students, internal College stakeholders and community partners to create and implement co-curricular programming, activities, and college-wide initiatives to support the personal and professional development of all students as well as to cultivate their leadership skills, agency, and efficacy. Ultimately, we strive to create an inclusive campus environment and foster a sense of belonging for all students.

Goals of the Office of Student Diversity Initiatives: 

  1. Support the success of students through catering to our diverse student population 
  2. Empower our diverse student population through identity-based programming and events 
  3. Educate students, faculty, and staff on the needs of our diverse community 
  4. Promote campus programming and resources that contribute to student success 
  5. Foster an environment that develops a true sense of inclusion and belonging for BCC students 
  6. Use the lens of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to support the academic retention of students
