NASA RESEARCH INTERNSHIPS [2026-2028]
Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Research Intern located in New York, NY. The Research Intern will assist in conducting academic or applied research, compiling and analyzing data, preparing reports, and supporting the development of research materials. Additional responsibilities include participating in team meetings, contributing to project discussions, and assisting with administrative tasks related to research projects.
[This is an 8-week or 120hrs part time role for undergraduate student who is currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Technology, data science or STEM course with high level of proficiency in computing, coding, programming and modeling]
Required skills
Competitive skills and background in geospatial data analytics
Strong research, and data management skills in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Technology and AI.
Proficiency in using research tools, software, and statistical analysis programs
Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing detailed scientific reports and presenting findings.
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Academic background in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, data science or STEM course with high level of proficiency in computing, coding, programming and modeling
Ability to work collaboratively on-site in a team-oriented environment
Previous experience with research projects or coursework in research methods is a plus. The intern must be familiar with ethical research practices and standards
