S.O.A.R (Student Orientation Advising for Retention)

Welcome and congratulations on your acceptance to Bronx Community College. We are thrilled that you will be joining our Bronco family!

As a new student at Bronx Community College, you are bound to have questions. New Student Orientation, known on campus as S.O.A.R. (Student Orientation Advising for Retention), is designed for YOU, answering your questions and providing you with information about our campus resources, programs and services. By the time you leave orientation, you’ll be on your way to becoming a successful student.

The S.O.A.R. program will allow you to experience what it means to be a BCC student, both in and out of the classroom. Throughout the day, you will meet new and current BCC students and develop friendships that will stay with you throughout your college career. You will have an Orientation Leader who will assist you throughout Orientation and your transition to BCC.

  • Sessions highlight college and academic resources
  • Opportunities to speak with current students and BCC staff
  • Ways to get involved on campus through student organizations and campus events

  • Develop friendships
  • Experience college
  • Explore the campus
  • Discover life at BCC first hand.

For students entering in the spring, the orientation dates are:

February 4, 2016 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
