The Library never sleeps! Chat live with a Librarian: 24 hours a day; 7 days a week. Librarians here at BCC or at other CUNY colleges will most likely answer your question during the hours the library is open. After hours, you’ll get answers from librarians at colleges across the country and the world.


How do I request a library instruction session for my class?

To request a library instruction class, send an email to Library Instruction  or contact Ms. Ronise Springer, ext. 5433.
Please be sure to have at least two dates in mind.

How do I access library databases off-campus?

1. Go to E-Resources:
2. Select a database
3. Enter your CUNY Login credentials,  username: ; password: CUNY Login password.  If you dont’t get  access, please visit the Library Circulation desk, 2nd floor or sent an email to Access Services

How can I get assistance from a librarian with creating an assignment?

We will be glad to assist you with creating an assignment. Please feel free to make
an appointment with your Subject Liaison Librarian or call the Reference Desk,
ext. 5974.

How can I obtain a book or article not available at the library?

Books and articles not available at BCC or any of the other CUNY colleges can be
requested through the ILLiad interlibrary loan service.

How do I put materials on reserve?

Complete the Reserve Submission Form located under the Faculty Resources heading on the E-Reserves page.

How can I find out if the library subscribes to a specific periodical?

Use Quick Search on the library website and select Journals.

Laptop Loans

Current BCC faculty and staff may borrow a laptop for the semester on a first come first serve basis. A valid BCC ID is required. If your library fines are $25 or more, Library privileges are suspended and items can not be checked  out.
