Financial Literacy Workshop with Popular Bank
In collaboration with Popular Bank, the first virtual financial literacy workshop was held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. The topic was Credit Reports and Scores.
Foundation Scholarship Gala
The Bronx Community College (BCC) Foundation Scholarship Gala was held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. The Gala is the College’s leading fundraising event in support of BCC students. It attracts approximately 300 industry leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, government officials, community partners, and a host of friends and supporters.
The primary goal of the Gala is to raise funds, which provide direct scholarship support to deserving BCC students – 42% of whom come from households with an annual income of $15,000 or less.
BCC Foundation scholarships support students with the greatest financial needs to stay in school, graduate, and put them on the path to transforming their lives and that of their families.

Co-founded in 1978 by the late and distinguished BCC President and Tuskegee Airman Roscoe C. Brown Jr., Run the Bronx attracts over 1.500 participants annually.
The 45th annual Run the Bronx was held on SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2023. It is in-person!
Run the Bronx, a signature BCC event, was developed to promote health and fitness in the Bronx which:
- Ranked last (62nd out of 62) in New York State counties for poor health
- Has residents with an estimated 85% higher risk of obesity than Manhattan residents
- Has a 10% diabetes rate
