MATH Start is an accelerated, 8-week intensive developmental math program designed to unlock your full potential and prepare you for college success. In a supportive, collaborative learning environment, you’ll receive the guidance needed to deepen your understanding of mathematics, meet CUNY’s proficiency standards, and thrive as a college student.

In addition to math instruction, participants attend a weekly College Success Seminar focused on building academic identity, exploring career pathways, and engaging with campus life.

In just 8 to 10 weeks, you will:

• Strengthen your readiness for credit-bearing math courses and overall college success
• Benefit from two chances to meet CUNY’s math proficiency standards
• Save tuition and financial aid for credit-earning coursework

Math Start costs only $35 and includes:

• All course materials
• Small class sizes with dedicated support from instructors, advisors, and tutors.

MATH Start Program Schedule

MATH Start is offered at the beginning of every Fall and Spring semester, with additional sessions available during the summer.

• Fall & Spring Semesters
  • Daytime Program: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, with select Fridays required
  • Evening Program: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM–9:45 PM
• Summer Sessions
  • Daytime Program Only: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • Evening Program: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM–9:45 PM
