How to become an ASAP student

For First Time Freshmen and Transfer Students

STEP 1: Apply to CUNY.

STEP 2: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application at www.hesc.ny.gov, and accept any federal and state grant aid awarded (Pell, SEOG, TAP).

STEP 3: Accept your offer of admission to BCC.

STEP 4: Complete all admissions requirements, including the CUNY Assessment Test in Writing (CATW), if necessary.

STEP 5: Check your email for important next steps from the Admissions Office.

 

For Continuing BCC Students

STEP 1: Review the ASAP at BCC eligible majors and any college specific requirements.

STEP 2: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application at www.hesc.ny.gov, and accept any federal and state grant aid awarded (Pell, SEOG, TAP).**

STEP 3: Contact BCC’s ASAP office for next steps at JoinASAP@bcc.cuny.edu.

STEP 4: Check your email for an invitation to an ASAP Information Session.

** Note: Students not in receipt of financial aid but otherwise eligible may join ASAP but may not receive a tuition waiver.
