Reporting a Concern to the BIT

Faculty, staff, and fellow students are often among the first to notice when a member of the Bronx Community College community is overly stressed or behaving in a dangerous or disruptive manner. Disruption of academic progress, personal relationships, and daily behavior may be signs that a person is in distress. In order to maintain safety and order on campus, the BIT identifies, responds, and ensures appropriate intervention when individual behavior causes concern to other members of the campus community.

  • Anyone concerned about specific student behavior that has the potential for possible threat to self or others should complete a BIT Incident Report Form and email it to BIT@bcc.cuny.edu.
  • In case of an emergency, at any time, contact the Department of Public Safety at once at 718-289-5911 and/or call 911 (as appropriate).
