The Summer Immersion Program provides the opportunity for students to complete a remedial course (ENG, ESL, RDL, MTH and CHM) at no cost. The Summer Immersion Program is funded by the CUNY Office of Academic Affairs as part of the Coordinated Undergraduate Education initiative.

Who is eligible for the Summer Immersion Program?

Students who entered BCC as freshmen or those who transferred in Fall 2018 or Spring 2019, incoming freshmen for Fall 2019, and readmitted students for Fall 2019 who have earned 12 credits or less.

Will the Summer Immersion Program be offering flexible schedules?

YES. There will be morning, afternoon, and evening classes.

How will I know which sections are part of this program?

Summer Immersion Program courses will have a 95___ or 97 ___ code. Students taking a summer college course starting with digits other than 95___ or 97___ will be expected to pay tuition for the course.

What is the cost of the program?

FREE! The program has no tuition charges. However, students MUST buy books.

How to Enroll

How do I register for the Summer Immersion Program?

You will be advised by counselors, advisors and faculty for Summer and Fall 2019. You can register for Summer Immersion Program courses after being advised. There are no waiting lists.

Can I take more than one course in the Summer Immersion Program?

NO. Students are only allowed to take ONE course in the program.

Can I participate in the Summer Immersion Program and take other summer courses outside the program?

YES. However, summer courses outside the program will have tuition costs. You will be asked to meet with an academic advisor before taking two summer courses.

What happens if I don’t qualify for the Summer Immersion Program or if the courses are filled?

You can register for other summer courses, but tuition will need to be paid.
